| IS CLOSED Due to lack of classes (due to lack of interest), TZ YOUniversity and YARDI 101 are history. When I opened the classroom a few years ago, YARDI had recently ended its traveling classes for Professional, leaving users with one option in Nashville. "HowwwDY! This is Minnie Pearl, offerin' my third anniversary album of music that's sure to make you gag." Personally, I thought folks would rather visit beautiful Madison, Wisconsin than the Grand Ol' Opry. Anyway, my city-slicker bigotry aside, I did hold a few classes for a few clients in the first year, but interest waned and for two years since the last class, I continued to pay rent and watch the equipment value fall. About a month ago, my "investment advisor" gave me pretty good advice. "Close it." And then, just last week, that final straw hit this camel's back. A brand new client, during my first visit to her Chicago office, asked, "Is there any training closer than California (or Durham or Toronto)?" YES! I have a classroom in Verona, Wisconsin, JUST THREE HOURS UP INTERSTATE 90!!! Her eyes rolled as if Verona was on the other side of the Moon. Good God Almighty. Three hours. That's how it started for the passengers and crew of "The Minnow." And they ended up lost at sea in reruns for &$@#! decades!!! "So join us every week my friends, you're sure to get more smiles, about the YARDI users who must fly 2,000 miles!!!" GOODBYE to TZ YOUniversity and YARDI 101 WHAT is TZU? "Closed" classes - inaugural class was November 14, 2002 - you may schedule the classroom at YOUR convenience! WHAT'S THE DIFF'? "Closed" classes are an alternative to me visiting your office. At a lower hourly rate and no billable travel expenses, you may "click along," rather than merely observing me demonstrate procedures on a portable projector screen. Unlike future "YARDI 101" classes, a customized syllabus may be provided in lieu of standard course materials, as we may cover issues specific to your needs. You may bring a backup of your own database and up to ten participants to "closed" classes. Note: attendance in "closed" classes is limited, however, to owners and employees of ONE COMPANY, its legal affiliates (including rental property staff from properties YOU manage) and ONE bona fide independent consultant (CPA, accountant, bookkeeper, tax preparer, etc., who might find it useful to understand what a "Prog Gen Prepayment Transfer" is). "YARDI 101" classes will, more or less, follow a defined course outline and/or manual, targeted primarily to those who need training in subjects offered that day or week. These classes will require advance registration and prepayment, similar to those "road show" classes once offered by YARDI Systems, Inc. Tuition, at least until this economy gets back on track, is only $200 per person, per day. ONE co-pilot (backseat driver) FROM THE SAME COMPANY, ITS AFFILIATE OR CONSULTANT may co-occupy the same workstation and receive full training materials for an additional $50 per day. In either scenario, you are responsible for your own travel, lodging and dining arrangements, however, I will make every reasonable effort to assist you in the process...not as your concierge, mind you, but as a friend familiar with "Greater Madison, Wisconsin" and what it's like to pack up and travel to an unfamiliar area.
