Is there an affordable AND SIMILAR replacement for YARDI Professional?

Once again, I may be getting in trouble with the California office, but we DO live in George Bush's "Ownership Society" and most people buy, not lease, their cars.  So when YARDI introduced "pay-as-you-go" Genesis, I wasn't the only one disappointed.  Annual licensing be popular in SOME circles, but so is body-piercing and you don't see a nose ring or navel stud on me!  (However, sometimes after my third or fourth beer, I consider getting Bucky Badger and the Wisconsin Motion W tattooed on my left and right upper arms, respectively.)
